Why did Toggi become Kägi?

The truth is: Toggi has always been Kägi :) it just had another brand name in our international markets.

Toggi And Kaegi

Long, long time ago (80 years!) the Kägi family founded our company in the Swiss village of Lichtensteig. They began as a small bakery producing finest wafer and biscuit specialties and soon grew larger and larger. They sold their products not only in their Toggenburg valley, but all around Switzerland and used their family name as the brand name for their products: Kägi

With the increasing success of the company, Kägi began to sell their products also outside of Switzerland. For the international markets they created a new brand name: Toggi, corresponding with the Toggenburg valley, where the company is located and produces 100% of its products. They chose another brand name because of the “ä” in Kägi, a typical Swiss letter, that they thought would be difficult to pronounce in other languages. So for many years the same product was sold under different names.

Last year Kägi decided to use the traditional name of the company and the products not only in Switzerland and Europe, but also everywhere else in the world to create ONE BRAND with one quality and one tradition. Why should we use two different names for exactly the same product? So the change from Toggi to Kägi was initiated. Wherever you travel, you now will only find Kägi products and immediately recognize our Swiss quality product.
